Roxanne began her journey in the healthcare industry as a Peabody High School student in the first responder program; when she graduated in 1999 she had gained enough skills to become a first responder. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in General Business Management from the University of Pittsburgh in 2004 – in the areas of Human Resources and Marketing. Along with a passion for helping people, she has always been an entrepreneur, artist, and community activist.

After college, Roxanne went on to work in a variety of fields - a testament to her creativity and love for community. Somewhere along this journey she found massage therapy and fell in love with it. In 2007 she started a Massage Therapy certification program, and has been practicing as a Massage Therapist ever since.

Roxanne has been a Level III comprehensively certified Classical Pilates instructor through Peak Pilates since 2013. in addition, she is certified as an Integral Yoga Hatha Level 1 Instructor and has taken additional training through YogaFit. Due to her many other certifications and trainings in various fitness techniques, she recognizes one of the biggest challenges to people staying with a workout regimen is knowing what to do outside of the gym or studio. Therefore, she enjoys tailoring her training sessions to the individual by working in the client’s real life environment with the tools available to them.

While always being a “lightworker” by nature, she attained her Reiki attunements, and has been a certified Reiki Master since early 2022.

The combined knowledge she has gained of people’s strengths, weaknesses, and imbalances; the ways that the body, mind, “spirit”, past and present, heredity, rest, and nutrition are all connected; the patterns she came to recognize between the ways we are in training vs. the way we are in life; the patterns and methods of healing she found in her own self-exploration and study; and all of the different modalities she is trained in – have helped her to develop her own unique mind-body therapy style she calls Illumine Bodywork.

When you book a massage session with her, you will truly be experiencing holistic wellness.
